Jobs for Americans - The Focus for Stertil-Koni

In previous articles on our website, I have stressed that Stertil-Koni's priority is to fill the ever increasing large number of orders we are receiving for mobile lifts with lifts MADE IN AMERICA.

Toward that end and in the reverse trend existing in the US lift industry (to shift manufacturing to the Communist People's Republic of China) Stertil Koni is expanding its manufacturing and production base in Streator, Illinois.  Our focus is to create jobs for Americans in America!

What better place to create these jobs than in the heartland of America-Streator, Illinois?  Streator is a city in LaSalle County situated on the Vermillion River approximately 81 miles southwest of Chicago in the prairie and farm land of north-central Illinois. According to the 2000 U.S. census the population of Streator was 14,190 people.  Streator was named for Dr. Worthy Streator, an industrialist who financed the region's first coal mining operation.  It was incorporated as a city in 1868. Streator's early growth was due to its success as a coal producer, a major glass manufacturer and a railroad hub in the mid-west.  Today Streator's economy is led by heavy-equipment manufacturer Vactor, food manufacturer, U.S. Foodservice, glass bottle manufacturer Owens-Illinois and of course Stertil-Koni ALM.

2009 was a tremendous growth year for Stertil Koni and in 2010 we started the year with sizeable orders for mobile lifts that we are now manufacturing in Streator.   For our customers' benefit please see the attached pictures:
