January 2008Welcome!Welcome to the first edition of our NEW-Stertil-Koni Newsletter. It is our intent to publish a newsletter twelve times per year on the beginning day of every month. The purpose of the New-Stertil-Koni Newsletter is to inform you about recent developments with the company, our employees, our distributors and our customers. This month will feature information about the company, one of our newest employees and one of our most loyal and hardest working distributors located in the New York area. ![]() Holiday GreetingWe hope you enjoyed the recent holidays and wish you well for the New Year.
2007 was indeed a very, very good year for Stertil-Koni. Our sales growth continued unabated and we are thankful to our distributors and our customers for the continued growth. We believe that Stertil-Koni is now the fastest growing heavy duty lift company in the United States and Canada. We are especially pleased to note that our Canadian operation grew substantially in 2007. From a product point of view, our growth came in all areas including parallelograms, mobiles and four post lifts. The growth in the heavy-duty in-ground lift area was particularly exponential and our sales grew by 74% over 2006.
2008 is already shaping up to be another excellent year. We are projecting future growth in the way of new personnel and increased warehouse and office space. We are also introducing several new product lines which will be announced in the first trimester of 2008. Please check the website for the introduction of these new products which will be in the areas of mobiles, four-post, half-scissor, and accessories. Please keep in touch with our new web-site where we will be announcing new developments, models, and future happenings.
HAPPY NEW YEAR
Dr. Jean DellAmore & the entire Stertil Koni staff ![]() Distributor CornerOne of the hardest working and senior distributors in our organization is Edward J. Carr. Ed is our exclusive distributor in Long Island and upper state New York. Ed is 74 years young and has more energy than most men half his age. He graduated from Brooklyn Polytechnic Institute with a degree in engineering. His early years were spent working in various jobs where he specialized in "hydraulic system design." He subsequently was the owner and founder of PFB Associates where he performed advanced design work for the lunar module.
Ed is a renaissance man. He has collaborated with the FBI in stings that resulted in the arrest and conviction of the Mayor of Providence, RI and 11 of his associates. Ed has also received numerous citations from the New York Police Department for heroic actions that resulted in saving the lives of several young people. Ed is a boater, active in the Catholic Church and has been married to his wife Jean for over 50 years. Ed works with his son Danny in Plainview, NY.
Since 1998, Ed has become our exclusive distributor in the aforementioned areas of New York. In Ed's own words, Ed joined the Stertil KONI organization because he "...found a great and comfortable niche having an engineering background in hydraulics. What I find most interesting about my activities with Stertil KONI is accomplishing the things which are said to be almost impossible. This means beating the competition every time based on selling a superior product regardless of price differential."
If you see a truck and a trailer hauling 10,000 lbs. worth of Stertil KONI mobile lifts on the way to Saratoga, New York you will see Ed behind the wheel. We are very fortunate to have Ed and his son Dan as part of our distributor organization. ![]() Employee CornerKeith Bunn started working at Stertil-Koni in May of 2007 and is one of our newest employees. We brought him on board to manage the service department and be a point of contact for technical support should our distributors and customers experience a need relating to operating, servicing, or installing our vast array of powered heavy duty lifting equipment. Since joining Stertil-Koni he has been busy striving to build a comprehensive knowledge base of our products.
Keith is 35 years old and has been working in the electromechanical industry for about fifteen years. His formal education consists of many semesters at collegiate institutions around the state including electrical, mechanical, electronic, and aeronautic courses of study. He has earned an Associate Degree, Academic Certificate, Airframe and Powerplant certification, and a GPA that put him in an honor society and on the Dean's list. Those years of education and academic success have provided him the ability to learn things and apply them quickly, something that has been of extreme benefit to him and Stertil-Koni since last May.
Keith feels blessed to be married to Kim and they have two lovely daughters; Lindsay and Ashley. In addition, they are raising Kim's younger sister Nancy due to the loss of their parents.
When the work week is over and the family permits, he prefers to spend time keeping stress at bay by hunting or riding his Harley. Customer CornerIt is our intent to feature a new customer every month. Time did not permit us to do this for the first edition. Therefore, please allow me to point out that Stertil-Koni received a very large order for 9 in ground Stertil-KONI/Becker lifts from U.S. Air; one of the largest airlines in the United States. U.S. Air investigated several of our major competitors and chose the Stertil-Koni design. The 9 in ground lifts will be going into U.S. Air's new maintenance shop in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area in late 2008. If you are interested in learning more about the features and technical characteristics of the lifts going into U.S. Air, please go to our website and click on inground lifts. |
