NEW GENERATION OF BATTERY OPERATED MOBILE LIFTS

Stertil-Koni is proud to present the first fully ALI/ETL CERTIFIED DIGITAL BATTERY OPERATED MOBILE in the lift industry.

This state of the art, technologically advanced BATTERY OPERATED MOBILE LIFT operates without cables and maintains operational control through the use of very small wires that connect the lifting columns. These small wires can easily be positioned on top of the columns so as not to interfere with operator control. This new generation lift is the result of years of research and development. It is the first and currently the only BATTERY OPERATED MOBILE lift which is fully ALI/ETL certified. It is also the first fully digital mobile. The features that this lift provides is unparalleled:

- Control system with OSD (On Screen Display)

- Control system with integrated menu with programmable features

- Control system with integrated fault codes on the display

- Lifting height shown on the display

- Battery power indication on display

- Single, all and pair operation

- Turtle button for soft/precise lowering

- ALI ALCTV/2006 certified

-instructions on display screen are programmable in 5 different languages including Spanish

-Display screen allows for self-diagnostic repair by the facility maintenance people in the shop

-weight gauge determines the weight of the vehicle

Unlike our competitors, the Stertil Koni battery operated mobile allows for up to 15-20 cycles at full load without re-charging. At night, a regular 110 V plug-in recharges the deep cycle batteries.

COUNTER-BALANCED WHEEL DOLLY

Heavy-duty platform lifts come in various designs, capacities, and lengths.  Stertil KONI manufactures a four-post platform lift, a parallelogram platform lift, and now the new SKYLIFT-a half-scissors design.  Platform lifts offer a lot of operational advantages.  The main advantage is the ability of the operator to safely drive on the runways and rapidly raise the lift.  Platform lifts are therefore perfectly suited for quick preventative maintenance.

To facilitate the removal of tires and wheels you can combine the use of the Stertil-Koni jacking-beam and the COUNTER BALANCED WHEEL DOLLY (CBWD). As you can see from the attached photograph, the CBWD does not have a forward base extension and thereby allows the dual tandem tire assembly to be safely removed.  This is accomplished by offsetting a series of weights opposite the load carrying member of the dolly.

The capacity of the CBWD is 1,000 lbs. and it can lift up to 52" in height. It can be operated from standard shop air and works hydraulically to safely support the load.

CUSTOMER SPOTLIGHT

STERTIL-KONI'S GRAND PRESENCE AT GRAND AVENUE

Stertil-Koni, the world's largest supplier of heavy-duty mobile lifts has teamed up with New York Transit, North America's largest transit agency to provide all of the vehicle lifts for the world's largest individual bus depot-Grand Avenue depot.

The Grand Avenue shop opened up on January 15, 2008 and operates more than 230 buses out of the Grand Avenue location.  Stertil-Koni has 3 heavy duty Omer parallelogram lifts (one of them a 50 foot wash-bay lift) and over 35 sets of mobiles (140 columns) operating in the Grand Avenue location.   When it opened, less than 3 weeks ago, it immediately became the largest bus depot in the world.   The Grand Avenue depot also contains over 20 of our exclusive high lift wheel dollies (extra high 72" height) to meet the special needs of New York Transit (see our website under accessories).

Stertil-Koni is proud of its association with New York Transit where we have provided over 3,000 columns in the last 7 years.

DISTRIBUTOR SPOTLIGHT

Ed Romano started Vendor Network in July 1994 after working 8-1/2 years as the Purchasing Manager for NYC Transit. During that time, he was responsible for purchasing office supplies, track material, computer supplies, bus and train parts and heavy-duty trucks. The Vendor Network concept was to combine all of the products and make it a one-stop shopping company. "I learned a lot when I was a purchasing manager for NYC Transit. There were many things that sales reps did not supply to me when I was manager. I was responsible for 16 buyers.  So many companies wanted to do business with NYCT and not all presented themselves well. I started Vendor Network with the intent of bringing all sorts of products to a buyer who is looking for price and service. It has been going great for almost 14 years already."

Vendor Network started representing Stertil-Koni in NYC in 1999. The first qualification of the 1072 (NYC Transit version) was accepted and ordered with the first order being shipped to NYC Transit's Zerega Depot and Maintenance Facility, the largest NYC Transit depot at the time. The NYC Transit /Stertil-Koni relationship took off from there with sales of parallelograms, wheel dollies, transmission jacks and support stands.

While NYC Transit is the largest customer in the NY area, sales to other bus companies and sub-contractors resulted from the original NYCT deal. Most recently, Vendor Network partnered with NYC Transit on their new $300 million Grand Ave. Depot and Maintenance Facility where 170 -  1082 columns, 3 parallelograms and all accessories were supplied.

A lifelong New Yorker, Ed was born and raised in the Bronx.  He graduated from CUNY with a BS in Economics. Ed and his wife Toni, a senior manager for the accounting firm of Price, Waterhouse & Coopers now make their home in the Huntswood section of Mount Vernon in Westchester County, NY which is about 10 miles north of NYC.  Ed and Toni have three children:  Michael (4), Christopher (2) and Eva-Marie (1). While Ed admits to being a latecomer to marriage and family life, he says it is the greatest experience of his life.

In his spare time, Ed enjoys baseball and softball. He also loves wine tasting, along with cooking and grilling all foods; his favorite, not surprisingly, being Italian.  He even catered parties for a few years (before marriage and children).

EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT

"Good Afternoon, Stertil-Koni" When you call Stertil-Koni, you will most likely be speaking with Cindy Koene. She joined our company in the fall of 2006. Along with being on the frontlines of the phones, Cindy handles all of the accounting functions, keeping tracking of the money coming in and making sure the bills are paid on time.

Cindy is originally from Michigan. She relocated to Maryland after a three year sailing trip with her family. They traveled from Michigan, down the eastern US, into Caribbean and across the Atlantic Ocean to Southern Europe and back. It was during their trip down the east coast of the US that they decided that Maryland would be their new home when they returned.

If you come to visit us here in Stevensville, the bicycle outside is Cindy's. She is one of our local employees, with a mere 5 minute commute by car, or 15 minutes by bicycle during the warmer months. She lives on Kent Island with her husband Ruben and their son Marcus. When she is away from Stertil-Koni she enjoys gardening, bicycling, and sailing with her family on the Chesapeake Bay.
